Leichhardt
The Leichhardt Action Group is a budding action group in Far North Queensland. The group is principally active in and around the city of Cairns and aims to amplify issues felt across the entire electorate of Leichhardt, which spans from the south of Cairns and encapsulates the Cape York Peninsula and the Torres Strait Islands. This action group was formed in the lead up to the 2022 federal election and members engaged in market stalls, phonebanks and community outreach centred around amplifying First Nations issues. In addition to the federal election campaign, many group members are active in other local environmental groups.
